Daniel and Alison are a production power couple who work together creating photography and cinematic media for publishers in the tabletop industry. They have a combined 30+ year working in the professional production workspace and continue to learn and grow their knowledge as the industry expands.

A little background to who we are…

Daniel and I (Alison) have always enjoyed playing games and shared that love with our family (Jarred 14, Peyton 10 and Emma 1). But it wasn’t until lock down in 2020 that we truly started investing in board games and applying that hobby heavily into our lifestyle.

We love our Community

Facebook has given us such a great reach and connection to the tabletop community. Whether you are a seasoned gamer or a family casual board game player, everyone is welcome at our table and we would love to have you join our community!

Daniel got started in the production industry over 15 years ago joining the Light Productions Co team as an editor. Now he is the chief producer/editor as well as stepping out from behind the camera and taking on the front of the camera personality on Play The Game HQ Youtube Channel. Joining hobby and work by creating high quality media for the boardgaming industry gives such a fun twist on projects.

Along with his production expertise, Daniel also brings his skills of writing and creating clear and concise How To Play scripts that have been highlighted over and over at how easy to follow and understand.

Alison has had a camera in her hand for the past 15 years, and started her family photography business which quickly blossomed allowing her to not only capture the beauty of families but also to guide and teach photographers all over the world.

She shifted her focus 4 years ago to the Tabletop industry and product photography which has become such a rewarding change of pace. She brings her creative eye and staging to capture gorgeous images of board games on the table.

Why our history in production is important:
Just like the design that goes into the production, we care about how the game looks on the table

We not only love to play games but also have a high respect for all the work and care that goes into the design and implementation to get that game onto the playing table. Making sure that each component is in the correct place and set up visually to grab the attention of the viewer is something we pride ourselves on. Tabletop games are a form of entertainment and visually entertaining is a key aspect, which is why creating a cinematic trailer or a gorgeous photo of game play is so important to reaching more and more people to check out the games.
